Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge has said the state government would continue to strengthen digital infrastructure, intelligent systems and institutional capacity to ensure faster response, better coordination and more effective policing across Karnataka.

The Minister made the remarks after visiting the office of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Communication, Logistics and Modernisation in Bengaluru and reviewing key policing and technology systems.

"Modern policing requires modern technology. We will continue to strengthen digital infrastructure, intelligent systems and institutional capacity to enable faster response, better coordination and more effective policing across Karnataka," Kharge said in a post on X on Friday.

During the visit, he reviewed critical systems that support connectivity, responsiveness and operational readiness of the Karnataka State Police.

The review covered the wireless communication network, the 1930 Cyber Helpline, the Namma 112 emergency response system, motor transport operations and ongoing modernisation initiatives.

Kharge also assessed measures aimed at strengthening the response to cyber fraud, including faster lien marking, closer coordination with banks, specialised training for personnel and greater use of digital platforms.

The minister said he also reviewed efforts to expand the digital wireless network, enhance police IT infrastructure and strengthen forensic capabilities as part of the state's broader police modernisation programme.
