UoH inaugurates natural rock sculpted by Fine Arts alumni at university main gate 

The natural rock used to make the statue10X12 feet and had been identified within the campus and mobilised to the front gate

A large natural rock statue, sculpted with the logo of University of Hyderabad (UoH), was erected in front of the university gate on January 21. Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile inaugurated the rock sculpture along with Pro Vice-Chancellors, Deans of Schools, Registrar, Finance Officer, Controller of Examinations, University Engineer, among others.

The natural rock used to make the statue10X12 feet and had been identified within the campus and mobilised to the front gate. UoH alumni, Dhiraj Kumar and Masum Asick Molla, from the Department of Fine Arts, sculptured the UoH Logo on the rock. The rock will be visible to commuters passing on Lingampally — Gachibowli main road and also to the those entering the campus. 

While inaugurating the rock, Prof Podile emphasised the need for the alumni to come up with bright ideas and contribute to the growth of the university. He also highlighted the works done by these two students at the recently inaugurated Amenities building.
