Even though the TISS administration has announced that the campus will reopen on July 25, the protesting students have decided to continue with their struggle. However, the students said that they will choose a passive mode of resistance and won't be 'boycotting or blocking' any spaces. 

The students, though, find the timing of the reopening notice odd since their petition was due to be heard on Tuesday, just a day after the announcement. "They knew that the issue will be addressed in the court today and they conveniently released the notice yesterday stating that they are resuming classes. The timing is questionable," a protesting student said.

The hearing of the petitions filed by the students of TISS Hyderabad was held today. However, since the Institute announced that the campus would be reopened on Thursday, the lawyers sought time till Monday to present their case. The Court also took note of the administration's announcement and decided to hear the case on Monday.

The students had filed two writs — one to revoke the sine-die closure and the second for the demand charter to be implemented in the Institute. The Court said that now that the sine-die has already been revoked, the petition is invalid but the second writ would be discussed on Monday. "They said that they will wait to see how things are when the Institute reopens because that is what the priority is now," a representative of the students' legal team said. 

The students are still contemplating their next steps and are unsure of what will happen on the first day, "We have an event at Lamakaam tomorrow and we're going to continue the struggle with some passive mode of resistance. No blockade or boycott." But the students are awaiting the hearing on Monday and will decide on something more definite after that.
