A junior doctor, who was pursuing MD, allegedly committed suicide by hanging from ceiling of her hostel room in Saifai Medical University here late Monday night.

Police sources on Tuesday said that prima facie, it seems to be a case of a suicide but no suicide note was recovered from the room. The girl, identified as Vandana Shukla, a native of Pratap Vihar in Ghaziabad , was pursuing MD in pathology from the varsity.

The girl students staying in other rooms of the hotel informed about the incident to the university authorities and thereafter, the police was informed. The family members of the deceased girl have rushed to the hospital.

In July, junior doctor Shailja Sachadeva also attempted suicide by consuming poison.
