IIT Kanpur incubated start-up develops colorimetric test-strip to monitor quality of water

IIT Kanpur Incubated Start-ups i.e Earthface Analytics Pvt Ltd and Kritsnam Technologies Pvt Ltd have developed a device, for analysing and monitoring water quality through easy to use colorimetric test-strip, based on smart-phone technology that screens multiple important water quality parameters in less than two minutes.

The invention enables analysis of multiple water quality parameters in a cost-effective, easy to operate, eco-friendly manner, and have a centralised data management scheme. The system for measuring quality of liquid will empower the masses with an on-site, low-cost, smart water quality testing device to deal with field-level to household-level water contamination problems.

An IIT K press statement here on Wednesday said the present invention will address challenges in water quality monitoring by creating an easy to use colorimetric test-strip based smart-phone technology that screens multiple important water quality parameters instantaneously.
