Around 32 municipal schools had their compound walls painted with murals in a mission by Hosur Municipality in association with non-governmental organisations and corporates as part of the 'Azhagiya Hosur' project on Sunday. Puvi, a local team of youngsters promoting tree plantation made make an outline of graffiti, while volunteers filled the spaces with colourful paints.

The Azhagiya Hosur project is a mission that brings a collaboration of social, environmental and industrial groups to create a portal for youth to engage in community work to beautify Hosur town. Hosur Municipality Commissioner M Senthil Murugan said that this project was started in order to transform Hosur into a beautiful place. 

Currently, the work has begun in Alasanatham Municipality school and Zuzuvadi school with the support of The People's Society of Hosur, Rotaract club and Ashok Leyland School, Senthil Murugan informed. 

As part of the mission,  rainwater harvesting methods will also be implemented in every house under the limits of Hosur Municipality and trees will be nurtured using the Miyawaki method, Murugan added.
