The Delhi High Court has asked the University to ensure that its grievance redressal committee will be functional from Friday evening. A division bench convened by justice Hima Kohli has ordered the same. The committee will also have a sixth member, Dr Ajay Arora, who is a faculty of the university.

At the same time, a single bench of Justice Pratibha Singh criticised the committee for not convening. She noted that while GRC member Dr K S Rao gave an interview to a newspaper, but did not discuss the students' issues with the committee. "He has the time to give an interview, but he doesn’t have the time to convene and discuss it with the Committee? Is this how an academician should behave?" she asked.

The university's Pro Vice-Chancellor, P C Joshi, on the other hand, said that the students' grievances will be sorted out and that he has asked the dean of exams to comply with the court's orders. Two lawyers, who are members of the GRC had previously told the court that the university wasn't in touch with them and that they do not have the contact details of the university faculty who are its members.

The DU counsel Sachin Datta informed the division bench previously that the university has rectified the error with one of the grievance email IDs."These are extraordinary times. We have a lot to say about the grievances faced by the student through the process you've adopted," justice Kohli noted.
