In a first, the Marketing Management department at MOP Vaishnav College for Women is hosting its Kotlerz Klan annual event online. The event kicked off on October 31, with the launch of their annual journal Publicite that was published as an e-book online owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. Annual journals are customary for every department of the college and this one is special as the department has completed 15 years, says Dr Nisha U, Head of the Department of Commerce (Marketing Management).

Kotlerz Klan is the students' club and the entire journal has articles that have been contributed by them, says Nisha. "Publicite has been edited by an editorial team comprising students. We usually choose a theme for the journal every year and this year, owing to the pandemic and how every brand has adapted according to it, we have decided to go with a theme called 'Moment Marketing'," adds Nisha. Using the software Anyflip, the students have managed to convert the special edition journal into a book with pages that can be flipped through.

As part of the fifteenth-anniversary celebrations, a four-day event has been organised by the student body of the Marketing Management department. For it, the students have organised a virtual treasure hunt. Nisha explains how it'll work. "The students of the department will be given clues and they will have to go to various websites and portals online to find the solutions. The entire process will be done virtually," she says. The treasure hunt is being conducted over two days - November 2 and 3.

Inter-departmental activities will also be held on November 4. "We haven't opened up the event to other colleges this year as this is the first time the events will be conducted online," says Nisha, adding, "Depending on this year, we'd like to extend the treasure hunt to other departments and even invite students of other colleges to participate in the next semester. This is the first time that all these events are taking place together. Usually, we'd spread them out across the entire year."
