BENGALURU: Bengaluru North University will have its own campus near Amaravathi village in Chikkballapur district in a 172 acre land allotted by the Government of Karnataka in 2018. Currently, the university is functioning in a rented building of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in Kolar district. After the Bangalore University, Jnanabharathi Campus was divided, Bengaluru City University got its own campus. However, Bengaluru North University lacked a campus and it was allotted a building with a few rooms in Kolar district.

Speaking to TNIE, a senior administrative official at Bengaluru North University said, “The funds allocated to build the infrastructure got delayed every year, and got them in phases. We may shift to the new building soon.”

He said, “The new building is constructed with inspirations from Hampi, Pondicherry and Ashoka Universities. Around 210 colleges in North Bengaluru, Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts are affiliated to the university.”

The official said that they would start a campaign to enrol students for UG and PG programmes for the academic year 2026-27. “We want to start new courses in AI and DeepTech, but due to staff crunch and 90% of teaching staff being guest faculties, we have limited ourselves to the existing courses.”
