With the Novel Coronavirus being declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organisation, streets, offices and institutions all over the world are getting emptier by the day. However, there are certain spots that still see people turning up, without fail. Case in point, protest sites. Braving the COVID-19 outbreak, the students of Delhi University have been protesting for 15 days against the stringent curfew timing and hostel rules.

"There is definitely a fear of Coronavirus. However, at least 10 protestors turn up every day at the protest site, armed with masks and hand sanitisers," says Amisha Nanda, a student of the Faculty of Law and a resident of Ambedkar Ganguly Students House for Women. The protest began on February 27 and on the same day, a few residents were allegedly manhandled, molested and harassed by the male guards and a male officer of the Delhi Police when they took out a rally for their cause on Saturday night.

The 15th day of the protest will see a poster making competition at the Dhaka complex. The theme for the same is 'Auratein Layengi Inquilab', which translates to 'The women will bring about a revolution'. The students are also organising a lecture series on the cause. In the coming days, there will also be art and photography events, in solidarity with the cause.
