ABVP students protest against change in schedule in Jammu's Cluster University

Led by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad, student leaders along with students of Cluster University held a protest against the change in timing

Hundreds of students of different colleges in Jammu took out a rally against a sudden change in schedule on Tuesday. As per new order, the government ordered that the new timings for undergraduates will be from 9 am to 3 pm and 9 am to 5 pm. The VC of the Cluster University later explained that the timings are for the administrative staff and faculty and not for the students.

Led by Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), student leaders along with students of Cluster University held protest against the change in schedule of the undergraduate courses. The protest was led by Secretary Parteek Raina and ABVP student leaders from various colleges protested outside the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the Cluster University. Police tried to stop the protesting students from taking out the rally which led to scuffle at many places.

A delegation of student leaders later called on the Vice-Chancellor and she agreed upon the demands asserting that the timings are for the faculty and the administration section but not for the students. Meanwhile, the students also demanded bus service for students coming from remote areas.
