The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to hold JEE and NEET on the scheduled dates, calling it 'visionary'. In a statement, the RSS' student wing said that the top court's decision is in the best interest of students. At the same time, a large number of students have been protesting against this and are seeking a postponement, owing to the upward COVID curve.

The student political organisation, at the same time, will also release helpline numbers for the aspirants. They have also asked the state governments to help out students who are stuck in places without transportation, to reach exam centres. "Since public transportation is unavailable at many places due to the ongoing lockdown, students without any personal vehicle may have to face difficulties. The commute may be a major problem for students living in far off regions. In such cases, it becomes incumbent on the respective governments to make proper arrangements for the safe travel of the examinees to and from their specific examination centres," reads the statement.

It also said that proper SOPs ensuring physical distancing must be followed in every examination centre. "Special operating procedures with respect to the physical distancing norms must be strictly adhered to at all times at every examination centre, particularly before the commencement and after the conclusion of the exams. Special provisions for students suffering from any medical infirmity or living in containment zones are required to preclude any adverse impact on their health as well as ensuring their timely participation in the exams," the statement reads.
