Generation Z is on a roll, despite the pandemic. The class XII and class X CBSE toppers of Amrita Vidyalayam Chennai have both managed to score marks above 490. 500 is the maximum score that a student can be awarded in both grades.

The class XII topper is M A Ashwin Muthuraman, who scored a whopping 493 marks out of 500, which amounts to 98.6 per cent marks. He scored 99 marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. The class X topper is D Sowmika with 99.4 per cent marks. While she scored a total of 497 marks out of 500, she scored 100 marks in Mathematics, Science and Language.

The CBSE Class XII results were announced by the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on July 13. Owing to the pandemic, a few of the examinations which were scheduled to be held in the last week of March and first week of April were previously cancelled by the CBSE. The CBSE had then told the Supreme Court on June 26 that there will be no further examination for Class 10, however, the Class 12 students will be provided with an option to appear for the exams or there will be a scheme for an assessment to be made based on their performance in past three exams.
