After suspension from attending any statutory meeting in the university despite being democratically elected and having the power to participate in the decision-making, the JNU Student Union (JNUSU) is yet again at loggerheads with the administration. 

The JNUSU has been waiting for days now to meet with the VC but is apparently not being allowed to do so. The JNUSU president, Mohit K Pandey shared videos of waiting in the VC's office and allegedly being threatened to leave.

Four members of the JNUSU have been debarred from attending any academic council or any decision-making body meeting. Tension escalated after students complained about the VC not having a proper discussion with them and other members of the council during the meeting and passing agendas without full approval. The students claimed they were also manhandled when they tried to protest, subsequently, they were suspended.

The Court has issued directions for the JNU students to have a meeting with the VC to resolve issues but the students claim that the VC has been simply avoiding them.

On Tuesday, two of the students Mohit K Pandey, President and Satarupa Chakraborty, the General Secretary decided to stay in the VC's office till he agreed to meet them. But for hours, they were allegedly made to wait and the security guards keep badgering them to leave and even threatening them with dire consequences.

When they refused to budge, the authorities allegedly turned off the lights, "Everywhere else on campus there was light, except for us and we were confined in that room," Pandey said.

When the authorities realised that the students were not in any way ready to give up their demands, the VC finally responded to the students. He is to meet them later this evening, whether anything good will come from it, well that's left to be seen.
