We all have that one friend whose phone is loaded with a million apps — a couple of note-taking and memo apps, an array of messenger apps, and a transcribing app. How badly do you want to just uninstall all of these and replace it with just one app that can do it all? Thanks to Jason Bakthakumar’s app ,a wonderful platform where people can organise their lives, you can now do that. The app that was launched in 2016 allows a user to create notes, to-do lists and reminders, filter them using labels, and even transcribe audio recordings.
The app not only unites various productivity tools under one platform, but it also unites multiple users. Its ‘collaborate’ feature enables users to share notes and reminders with others, including access to edit files. Additionally, it also houses a full-blown messenger, primarily designed to help users maintain a professional rapport with other users. So, gone are the days where you need to shift between apps to get your work done.
We find out how Jason was inspired to develop applications. “I would spend a lot of time on the internet, constantly browsing, and I fortuitously stumbled upon the world of mobile application development. I realised that apps were the backbone of the smartphone age,” says the 21-year-old, who extensively researched the various platforms, development tools, Cloud storage options, and languages used before diving in.
With a constant determination to learn everything he needed to know, Jason gained a solid knowledge of how to build powerful apps in just two months. A couple of weeks later he created his first Android app, File Me. However, it was never released as it was only a basic app with minimal functions. “But the sense of achievement that set in after watching my first app run is still profound to my heart,” says Jason proudly. Despite the complex nature of app development, Jason is persistent about developing apps in the future. Currently, he is working on an app that will be available to both iOS and Android in a couple of months.
