India needs a revised curriculum that will raise India's standard of education, said Educationist and MP Richard Hay. He was speaking at the state meeting of managers and principals of CBSE schools organised by the Kerala CBSE School Management Association in Kochi on Saturday.

Hay said the economic rise of the US and China took place after measures were introduced to improve their respective education system.  

The NCERT syllabus is the best among the available lot since it has been put together on the basis of research findings, Hay said, urging school principals and managers to lead the way for students

While Hay lauded Kerala's CBSE schools for improving the standards of education, he also said students in the state lacked motivation.

While speaking with students in New Delhi and Mumbai, we found them to be highly motivated. They harbour dreams about their future. In Kerala majority of the students have no clear-cut idea about their future. The teachers and management ought to motivate the students
