The student of government schools in the State will get purified drinking water starting next year

The students of government schools in Haryana will get purified drinking water starting next year as the Manohar Lal Khattar government has decided to install reverse osmosis systems on all school premises of the state. Initially, this facility will be made available in urban schools and from the next year and later on, it will be further extended to schools in rural areas also, an official spokesperson. The government is also planning to install solar panels on the rooftops of government schools.

The solar energy thus produced would be utilised to run computers. While reviewing the schemes, Khattar stressed on the need to increase the state's revenue rather than depending on debts from other sources. He also directed the officials to constitute a committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, comprising officers from the Finance Department as its members, to find ways to curtail wasteful expenditure and to bring down revenue expenditure.

The Chief Minister has directed all the administrative secretaries to prepare realistic proposals before sending it to the Project Approval Board so that the funds may be released by the centre at the earliest. Khattar also directed to make provision of a separate budget for the implementation of ambitious 'Maha Gram Yojna' to provide sewerage facility in 126 villages having a population of more than 10,000. He said that the state government was in the process of setting up a 'Smart Gram Authority' and the "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) would also be linked with it.
