On Wednesday, that is, February 5, 2020, student unions like Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) and Dalit Hakkula Vedika (DHV) staged a protest in front of Acharya Nagarjuna University's (ANU) campus and were demanding the resignation of ANU's Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor P Rajasekhar.

The students alleged that the VC was supporting the YSRCP government's decision of decentralisation of administration via making three capitals. The police took the agitators into custody and shifted them to Pedakakani police station.

The students staged protested outside while the university officials were conducting a seminar on 'Three Capitals of Andhra Pradesh for Decentralisation of Development and Administration' in the campus.

State president of TNSF N Bramham Chowdary, Chairperson of DHV A Rajesh and others raised slogans against the VC.

Bramham alleged that VC Rajasekhar tarnished the image of the university by conducting a seminar on decentralisation while the students were expressing displeasure in the campus. "The VC is working as a party member by participating in the YSR Congress Party programmes which is severely objectionable. He deployed police in order to create fear among students.," he said.

Rajesh alleged that the police arrested agitators while the students were protesting in a democratic way demanding continuation of capital at Amaravati. He lamented that it was unfortunate that the VC was trying to impose police rule in the campus.

Mala Madiga Students Union State president Rayapudi Kiran, Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi leaders M Ramabramham, M Saratchandra, Hemanth, Ramana, P Nani, Lokesh and others participated.
