The notice issued by the headmaster of Government Higher Secondary School in Melagaram to salons, requesting them not to offer trendy haircuts to students, has managed to find more supporters. 

Tenkasi police officials, on Thursday, held a discussion with hair stylist and barbers and told them to throw their weight behind the headmaster's request. They said that it would help better the future of the children. 

As many as 70 barbers and hairdressers including the members of the barbers assosiation from Tenkasi town took part in the meeting organised by the police. 

At the meeting, the barbers had reportedly told the officials that at times, the parents also request them to cut their children's hair in trendy styles. "This meething would help us do our job in a socially responsible way.The meeting should be conducted in other parts of the district as well so that our regular customers should not go to those areas to get their hair cut," those who took part in the meeting added. 

Speaking to TNIE, Tenkasi police inspector Adivel said that the meeting was supposed to be conducted a month ago, "There are many rules that the students should adhere to. Hairstyle is one of them. Focusing on life is more important for a student, and to make them focus is the responsibility of the society," he added.
