New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI): The Congress on Tuesday offered legal assistance to young persons arrested, detained and attacked during the ongoing protests over the paper leak issue.

The opposition party put out a Google form link so its team could reach out to those in need of such legal aid. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said the AICC has instructed its legal team to provide them all possible assistance.

Ramesh also shared details of contacts and urged those in need of legal aid in connection with the protests to fill the Google Form Link so that the Congress team can reach out to them.

Delhi Police has registered four FIRs so far and is in the process of filing two more in connection with violence, vandalism and other incidents during the march to Parliament organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on July 20.

The cases were registered at Parliament Street, Connaught Place and other police stations, and invoke multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, sources said.

Security arrangements have been stepped up across the national capital following Monday's clashes, in which Delhi Police said more than 118 police personnel and around 60 protesters were injured, and over 20 police vehicles damaged.
