New Delhi, India (IANS): The National Testing Agency on Saturday announced its decision to conduct a re-exam on September 1 for 49 candidates who could not complete the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) due to a power failure at their centre in Jaipur.

In a message on X, the NTA said, “The AIAPGET examination was conducted for 36,979 registered candidates in Shift-I on 22 August 2026, in which 35,837 candidates appeared at 200 centres across the country.

“The examination was completed for 35788 candidates. However, at Shri Satya Sai PG College Centre, in Jaipur, where 192 candidates appeared for the examination, 49 candidates could not complete the examination due to a power failure at the centre, attributed to Eduquity Career Technologies Private Limited, the exam-conducting agency,” said the NTA.

“For all the candidates who could not complete the examination, the National Testing Agency expresses regret for the inconvenience caused. Their re-examination will be conducted on September 1, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur. Further details will be shared through the revised Admit Card issued for such candidates,” said the Agency.

Earlier, on August 18, Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi held a review meeting of the NTA and directed all concerned to put in place necessary security and related infrastructural facilities for the smooth conduct of examinations following the recent cancellation of three University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) tests after errors were reported in the question papers.

The UGC-NET is held to determine the eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor, admission to PhD courses, and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship in universities.

The NTA came under sharp scrutiny over the cancellation of the UGC-NET examinations for English, Commerce, and Sociology after several errors and anomalies were found in the question papers.

The issue has raised questions on accountability, adding to the growing criticism over its handling of competitive examinations.
