Does JNU want to make it tough for students from Kashmir to get in? Their decision to shift the exam centre for the JNU Entrance Exam (JNUEE) from Srinagar to Jammu certainly seems to point in that direction. Shifting the venue of JNUEE and scheduling it in December, when students there have conflicting exams has evoked a whole lot of criticism. The administration has shifted the venue owing to weather conditions. 

Students who had registered to write in Srinagar are being asked to attend the exam in Jammu which is almost 300 kilometres away. Earlier, the University cancelled the Shillong exam centre and shifted it to Jammu which is 2,500 kilometres away, but after protests, the exam centre was shifted to Guwahati.

Two major universities in Kashmir have scheduled term-end exams on December 30, while some of the JNU entrance exam papers are on December 29. Besides that, the other difficulty the students will face is that it would be impossible for them to travel back and forth to Jammu which is eight hours away by road and there isn't even a rail route available to them.
