The Centre for Assistive Technology and Innovation (CATI) at the National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) has invited applications from engineering or rehabilitation graduates and diploma-holders for a six-month internship programme.

The opportunity would be available for highly motivated, self-driven, and focused engineering graduates, ready to take on the challenges associated with working in an area that is relatively unexplored in India.

Sensitivity to disability and rehabilitation is an important requirement, an official statement said here on Sunday.

The candidate should be creative, resourceful, and willing to do hands-on work, with an acumen to explore, assess, identify, and deploy assistive and learning technologies effectively and efficiently.

Engineering or rehabilitation graduates were preferred, but exceptionally talented diploma holders with deep knowledge and commitment to the field of disability and rehabilitation may also be considered.

The intern would be entitled to a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month, the statement added.
