Amity university opens New York research hub to boost India-US innovation collaboration

New centre at Indian Consulate in New York to link universities, industry and policymakers on emerging technologies and global challenges

New York, USA (PTI): Amity University has launched a research hub in New York aimed at fostering international research partnerships, and strengthening scientific collaboration and innovation between India and the US.

The Amity Global Research Hub (AGRH) was inaugurated at the Consulate General of India in New York on Friday, the consulate said in a post on X.

"AGRH will serve as a platform to foster international research partnerships and advance innovation through collaboration between India and the United States," the consulate added.

Friday's inauguration was themed "Shaping the Future through Emerging Technologies" and included the launch of the hub's website and research brochure, followed by panel discussions on multi-sector partnerships, research and innovation and India-US collaboration.

The research hub is envisioned as a platform connecting universities, research institutions, industry partners and policymakers to promote interdisciplinary research, emerging technologies and solutions to global challenges, a press release said.

Amity University chancellor and AGRH chairman Aseem Chauhan said the establishment of the hub represented an important step towards creating a globally connected ecosystem for scientific discovery, innovation and knowledge exchange, it said.

"Our objective is to bring together outstanding researchers, academic institutions, industry leaders and global partners to address complex challenges and translate research into meaningful societal impact," he said.

The hub will connect researchers and institutions in the US, India and other global markets, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, emerging technologies, translational research and solutions to challenges of global importance.

The event was also attended by the president of Amity Science, Technology & Innovation Foundation, W Selvamurthy, AGRH director Sandeep Mittan and other senior representatives.

Amity University is a major Indian private educational institution known for its global network of campuses.
