After being the only student from Karnataka to secure a rank within the top 50, Karthik Reddy is no less than a role model for NEET aspirants in the state. Hailing from Bidar, he scored 710 marks out of 720 in NEET (98.61 per cent) and bagged the ninth all India Rank. He ranks fifth among male toppers in the country.

An alumnus of Shaheen PU College in Bidar, he says, "I used to spend ten hours revising the same syllabus and concepts in the college library. I would leave home at 7 in the morning and return by 9 pm. Revising whatever you study is the only key to score good marks in NEET."

Karthik did not attend any extra coaching classes as his college trained the aspirants for all kinds of competitive exams. In fact, he secured ninth rank in Common Entrance Test, Karnataka in Veterinary Science and the fourth rank in the Bachelors in Naturopathy and Yogic Science. When asked if he followed any particular study methods during exams, he says, "There were no particular study methods that I followed but solving mock papers during the lockdown period was the only way to crack exams and I have been preparing since class 11."

Karthik who aims to study in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi suggests that aspirants must only refer NCERT textbooks. He says, "Since the next NEET exams will be happening within six months, I suggest the aspirants to thoroughly study the NCERT textbooks and not waste time."
