MKU faculty writes to VC on merging BBA and MBA courses

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) College Head of the Department of Business Administration A Kamala on Tuesday wrote a letter to Vice-Chancellor M Krishnan, requesting him to merge the BBA and MBA programmes offered by the college.

She stated that the business administration department — under which the BBA programme falls – was created in 2008 by bifurcating the Department of Commerce, under the latter, the MBA course has been functioning since its initiation in September 2013. She sought the VC to allot the post-graduate course under the business administration department. The same has been brought to the VC’s notice multiple times before, she added.

Krishnan told TNIE that merging the courses would be feasible only if the departments functioned under the School of Management. The two departments here are functioning separately, and the senior-most faculty of the department would become the HOD of the MBA programme, he added.
