Mysore University opens up 44 online courses under new platform 'SWAYAM', an MHRD initiative

University of Mysore, one of the oldest university in the country would be offering 'Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) through Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) platform.

Now the post-graduate students of the University have the option of choosing 44 subjects under UGC-MOOCs SWAYAM between July and November this year.

University sources told UNI that SWAYAM was adopted at the its post-graduate centres in Manasagangotri campus in the city, Hemagangotri campus in Hassan and Mandya PG Centre to provide students quality education at their fingertips through the platform.

SWAYAM is a MHRD initiative launched under Digital India Movement.

UGC-MOOCs, a vertical of SWAYAM, was launched to develop and make available MOOCs to learners all over the country.

The online course is based on Information and Communication Technology, will have courses from the best academicians in the country from AIIMS, IISc, JNU, National Law Schools and various other top universities in the country, said Registrar Lingaraj Gandhi.
