Right after the JNUSU's 'March to Save JNU!', the students' union submitted a letter to the university's Dean of Students, voicing their demands. The letter which was signed by the JNUSU President N Sai Balaji, General Secretary Aejaz Ahmad Rather and Joint Secretary Amutha Jayadeep talks about the acute space crunch in the university's hostels and the need to quickly release the second hostel list. 

"We would like to bring to your notice the severe infrastructural crisis on campus. With an increase in the intake this academic year, there should be necessary arrangements made to accommodate new students," reads the letter. Apart from these, the union also raised their voice against several ongoing issues in the university including the introduction of biometric attendance, shutting down of a library and penalising the teachers for raising their voice. 

The march that was conducted on Friday saw massive participation of over 200 students across departments and political outfits. "We marched from the School of Languages to the Dean's office. If the administration doesn't listen to us, we'll take further steps," says Aejaz. "Now that the elections are around the corner, we'll certainly raise these issues in our campaign too. These issues have to be sorted out soon. We are yet to find out where the funds are being spent," he says.
