Revenge is sweet, even if by a slender point. Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore emerged as the top-ranged B-School In India, followed by the IIMs in Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Lukhnow and Indore, of the list of Management College in the National Institutional Ranking Framework India Rankings 2019. IIM Bangalore was at the top of the list in 2016, after which IIM Ahmedabad has been on top in 2017 and 2018. This year's fight for the topmost rank was also a close fight with IIM Bangalore (81.34) only 0.71 points ahead of IIM Ahmedabad (80.61). IIM Indore is the new member of the top-five club after it jumped from Rank 11 last year to Rank 5 in this year's ranking.

National Institutional Ranking Framework or NIRF India Rankings 2019 for Indian educational institutes was announced by President Ram Nath Kovind at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Monday. In its fourth year of rankings, the NIRF announced it under nine categories – Overall, Universities, Engineering, Colleges, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Architecture, and Law.

The top ten in the management list had three Indian Institutes of Technology — Kharagpur, Delhi and Bombay — along with IIM Kozhikode and Xavier Labour Relations Institute, which has jumped three places up to rank 7 from its last year's rank. IIM Kozhikode dropped two ranks to the eighth position this year.
