All engineering projects, papers to get mandatory plagiarism check, says AICTE

The India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) directed all affiliating engineering and technical institutions to include anti-plagiarism software in their systems after the unfair means has surfaced in academics and research. 

The statutory body of higher technical education has issued an official circular asking institutes to adopt the anti-plagiarism software that can identify what amount of 'copying' has been done.

The circular read, "To promote the academic integrity and excellence it is necessary to prevent plagiarism. Plagiarism has become a serious issue for students, academicians and researchers which affects the overall credibility of the academic institution and the nation."
