For the third consecutive year, Dell is organising its 'Campassador' programme, the company will appoint 200 campassadors from over 100 colleges across cities in India to create an interactive platform for students to enhance their technical skills.

While the programme has been prominent in cities, this time around it is spreading to the two and three tier cities. The programme aims to provide personal technology to the students as it plays a crucial role in helping individuals grow holistically such that they are equipped to succeed in a digital environment.

Suppose a student is studying English, then through this opportunity, they will also be able to get a hang of blogging and writing for other online sites. This will be a complementary skill

Ritu Gupta, marketing director, Consumer and Small Business, Dell India says that the aim of the programme is not to change the syllabus but to allow the students to get to experience technology and work with it to enhance not only their skills but develop their ideas too.

Gupta says in many instances because students pursue subjects that are unrelated to technology they never get the chance to work with technology, "Suppose a student is studying English, then through this opportunity, they will also be able to get a hang of blogging and writing for other online sites. This will be a complementary skill," she explained.

"Even things like multimedia animation can be very expensive to study but through this programme, they can experiment with that too," she added. Even entrepreneurial skills are also encouraged for the campassadors.

Dell also works with schools and provides and organises programmes for them to engage in tech as well. Another unique facet of the programme is that even the parents of the students are included, so not only can they learn but they can also have an idea as to what the children are learning

On their plans for the future, Gupta said that they are also coming up with new plans but what they ensure is that they take in all the feedback that they receive from the students and inculcate those ideas into their future programmes.
