Educators come together to discuss children's emotional wellbeing and the role of schools in it

EdexLive Desk

Teno App, a mobile app for schools, organised a panel discussion where reputed educationists from Mumbai deliberated on the role of educators in promoting emotional well-being amongst school students. The event witnessed participation from over 100 schools, in one of the largest congregations of school principals for any city event.

The event started with a workshop for the Principals conducted by Dr. Kunal Kala, renowned Child Psychologist, on how teachers or principals can read early signs of stress in students and understand peculiar habits or responses from children, to gauge their stress levels. He encouraged principals to ensure holistic training modules for teachers and to implement alternate techniques for engaging with students like mindfulness and monitoring the behavioural pattern of the child.

Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Anurag Dixit, Vice President of Teno App, said, “We collaborated with the educational heads of schools to come together and raise awareness on the role of schools to secure the child’s wellbeing. We are delighted with the immense support and participation from all corners of the city and hope to tackle similar issues that have infested our young generation.”

The panel discussion also addressed some common myths in the ecosystem about affluent schools being better than regular schools for student wellbeing, over-dependence of parents on the school to tackle the child’s emotional issues, academic excellence being an indicator of mental wellbeing and grades being the reflection of the kids true potential.
