Public Works Minister G Sudhakran inaugurated the mobile dental clinic arranged by the Alappuzha Government Dental Medical College on the college campus at Ambalappuzha on Saturday.
The minister said "The mobile clinics will help serve the poor people living in isolated places in the district and it is a model to other departments," he said. The Government Dental College arranged the vehicle with Rs 40 lakh with all modern facilities. Two electronic chairs and X-ray facility are arranged in the mobile clinic.
It also has a generator, washbasin, water tanks and other facilities. Two patients can be treated at a time in the clinic. The vehicle can accommodate 9 persons, including patients and doctors.
The facilities of the mobile clinic will be available to social service organisations and residents' associations. The Dental College began functioning in 2014. The college is now functioning in the Vandanam Medical College campus. The construction of a new building for the hospital is progressing.
