Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) recently announced the launch of the eighth batch of the ‘Advanced Programme in Supply Chain Management (APSCM)’ in partnership with Hughes Global Education. The programme is aimed at supply chain professionals, managers, and practitioners seeking to upgrade their skills and strategies with advanced supply chain management concepts and practices by bringing in a unique blend of multi-disciplinary learning. The year-long programme will equip supply chain managers with all-round capabilities in managing real-world supply chain issues. The programme entails a unique ‘group project’ feature to help participants apply key learning in solving real-world supply chain problems.

Bodhibrata Nag, Dean (Academics), IIM Calcutta (IIM-C) said, “This programme is very unique in that it covers the supply chain in great depth along with a breadth of management aspects such as finance, strategy, marketing, organisation structure and design, international trade and macro-economics. It is designed to equip a manager with the necessary skills to perform in supply chain positions, as well as equip the manager with the required skills as the person takes on more responsibilities at higher positions. The programme has demonstrated its efficacy by enriching and imparting skills to numerous supply chain professionals as evidenced by the feedback received and accelerated career progression of many of its alumni.”

Anurag Bansal, Senior Director, Hughes Global Education, says, “Given the hyper-competitive business environment and complex delivery cycles, the role of logistics and supply chain managers have become significantly more enriched and complex. With the launch of APSCM, our aim is to help supply chain professionals keep up with the changing business environment, as well as equip them with a more diverse array of skills to assume greater responsibilities across functions.”

“With expansive course structure and industry engagement, we are confident that with time, this programme will turn out to be one of the most sought-after programmes for professionals involved in varied supply chain management processes”, he added.

In addition to the benefits of interactive onsite learning, the selected candidates will also get an opportunity to attend classroom sessions at the IIM-C campus. Participants will be selected based on an entrance examination and subsequent candidate profiling.
