Even as yet another NEET session came to a close this year, with students battling the pandemic to get a medical seat, criticisms against the test have remained. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President MK Stalin ridiculed the exam this year pointing out that the percentage of students who wrote the test this year was lesser than the students who managed to pass the test.

In a tweet, Stalin questioned why the NEET results that were released initially had so many errors, “Why is there so much confusion? So many students have written via email that they had problems with the OMR sheets and that they lost marks. NEET is a nationwide exam, why then is there so much confusion?” 

“As many as 23,468 students who registered for the exam in Tamil Nadu didn’t write it and among the 99,000 who wrote it, only 57,000 students managed to pass. In comparison to last year, that is 2570 students lesser,” he pointed out. He reiterated that the dreams of government school students in Tamil Nadu were being shattered, “Madras High Court Kirubakaran also said the same thing and felt so bad about it. Again and again, we are saying, NEET will destroy students from rural areas and poor backgrounds. I request the BJP government again to ban NEET.”
