Pearson has launched an AI-powered preparation platform for candidates appearing for the Pearson Test of English (PTE) in India.

Called Official PTE AI Practice, the platform allows users to attempt mock tests and individual questions for PTE Academic and PTE Core.

The platform allows test-takers to attempt mock tests and individual questions and receive immediate scores and feedback. An AI tutor then provides targeted guidance based on areas where candidates need to improve. The tool supports preparation for both PTE Academic and PTE Core.

According to Pearson, the practice platform uses official questions and provides scoring and feedback aligned with the test's official scoring criteria. The company said that the tool is aimed at candidates who increasingly prepare independently and use mobile devices for test preparation.

Sharon Hague, President, Pearson English Language Learning, said that candidates need realistic feedback and clarity on the areas they need to work on ahead of the examination.

“Feeling confident on test day is everything for a test taker,” Hague said, adding that the platform was designed to help candidates focus on areas requiring improvement through its AI tutor and global leaderboard.

Pearson cited Ministry of External Affairs data, as reported by ICEF Monitor, which showed that more than 1.2 million Indian students were enrolled in higher education overseas in 2025. The company said that the figure highlighted India's role in international student mobility and the growing need for English-language preparation among students seeking opportunities abroad.

Prabhul Ravindran, Regional Director, English Language Learning, Pearson South Asia, said that English proficiency was increasingly important to global mobility and described the platform as a way for Indian candidates to access official questions, instant scoring and targeted feedback.

The tool is currently available in India and China, with additional markets expected to be added from the third quarter of 2026. It is free to start, with further preparation activities available through paid plans.
