The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) will publish the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2025 rank list today, June 27 — a decisive document for students aiming to enter undergraduate engineering programmes across the state. Candidates who completed both their application and certificate verification process will be able to view their ranks on the official portal, tneaonline.org, once the list is made public.

The portal is expected to host category-wise PDFs detailing each candidate’s rank, application number, name, date of birth, scaled aggregate marks (out of 200), community, and community rank. The Daily Jagran reports that the exact time of release remains unconfirmed, so students are advised to check the website periodically in case of delays caused by high traffic.

As explained by The Daily Jagran, the rank list is generated based on a standardised system that accounts for variations between Class XII boards. A candidate’s Mathematics marks carry the highest weightage (100 marks), while Physics and Chemistry together contribute another 100 marks (50 each).

In the event of a tie, a specific inter-se merit system is used, prioritising candidates based on Maths percentage, then Physics, optional subject marks, overall Class XII performance, date of birth, and finally, their TNEA-assigned random number.

Once ranks are released, the next step is counselling. Although dates are yet to be officially announced, the upcoming process will involve choice filling, seat allotment, confirmation, and reporting — either to the assigned college or a TNEA Facilitation Centre. Students will also be allowed to raise grievances between June 28 and July 2.

To check their rank, students must visit tneaonline.org, click on the ‘Rank details’ link, select their category, and download the respective PDF.
