CBSE supplementary exams 2025: Rules, dates, and warnings

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the full schedule and exam-day guidelines for the upcoming Class X and XII supplementary board examinations. According to the Telegraph, the supplementary exams are slated to begin on July 15 and offer students a critical second attempt to improve their marks or clear pending subjects.

Class XII students will appear for all subjects on a single day — July 15 — while Class X candidates will sit for their exams in a staggered manner from July 15 to July 22. The date sheet, published on the official website (cbse.gov.in), includes subject-wise details and shift timings, which vary depending on the paper.

CBSE has issued specific instructions for candidates regarding examination conduct. As the Telegraph highlights, students will be allotted 15 minutes of reading time before each paper starts. Electronic gadgets, including mobile phones and smartwatches, are strictly prohibited inside the examination centres. Any violation of these norms will lead to action under the Unfair Means (UFM) policy.

The board has urged students to strictly follow the listed protocols and prepare accordingly. The supplementary exam period is often a decisive phase — especially for those hoping to secure eligibility for higher studies or improve their board results.

CBSE has also reminded students to download the date sheets directly from its website. Separate documents for Class X and Class XII have been provided and can be accessed here:

Class XII — https://www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/documents/Supplementary_Datesheet_XII_2025_26062025..pdf

With exams approaching quickly, the board's message is clear: plan well, follow all protocols, and avoid any actions that may lead to disqualification.
