Noted Senior Ambedkarite laureate and author Dr Bhau Lokhande passed away on Tuesday morning due to cardiac arrest. He was 78. Lokhande is known for his path-breaking work in Dalit literature.

He was a social worker and founder of Republican Students Federation. He was the first chairperson of "Dalit Sahitya Sammelan" organised by Vidarbh Sahitya Sangh.

He wrote several books and his literary work has broken boundaries and reached readers across the world. His literary and social work has inspired numerous youngsters to serve society.
