EdexLive Desk

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has made it clear that online classes to teach the theory part of the syllabus to the students pursuing Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery are valid.

The NMC made this announcement following a few reports that these classes were not valid. The NMC further clarified that the media reports appeared to have relied upon the reply given on August 13 by the Medical Council of India in response to an RTI query, which was in reference to the conduct of MBBS teaching curriculum by a foreign university through online medium only.

The NMC mentioned that online theory classes can be conducted for the MBBS students in view of COVID-19 and stated that these classes should be supplemented by practical and clinical training as per the current curriculum in all MBBS subjects in colleges and affiliated hospitals once the educational institutions reopen.
