MLC N Ravikumar criticises state of toilet facilities in  govt schools, colleges, hostels

MLC N Ravikumar said that the toilet facilities at the government schools, colleges and the hostels run by the government are in pathetic state. This needs to the improved in a big way. Education department, Social Welfare, Backward Classes and Minorities department should try to improve this. Addressing the Tri-monthly KDP meeting in the city he said that the toilets in schools and hostels are not having proper water facility and are in pathetic state, they need to be improved on lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi improving the Indian Railway stations.

ZP CEO Padma Basavanthappa and DC Mahantesh Bilagi who intervened said that, the conditions of the toilets at the hostels and schools are improving drastically, during our each visit to the schools and hostels, we are inspecting the conditions of the kitchens and the toilets and the conditions are improving. District in-charge minister BA Basavaraj who took the issue seriously directed the officials to ensure that, before the re-opening of the school all the toilets shoulhd be connected with the water facilities, so that the students will not feel odd to visit the toilets.He said that as the COVID-19 is coming down considerably in the state, the government which is closely monitoring the situation will take action on re-start of the schools.

DDPI informed the meeting that 1250 government schools are there in the district and action plan of Rs 29 lakh has been prepared for repair and rennovation of the toilets. Minister also reviewed the progress of various departments and gave suitable directions to the officials. MP G M Siddeshwara, MLA's Prof Linganna, Madal Virupakshappa, S A Ravindranath and other district level officials took part in the meeting.
