Cyclone Nivar: ICAI reschedules CA exams in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to December 9

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on November 24 announced that the Intermediate and IPC examinations in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry scheduled to be held on November 24 and 25 will be rescheduled to December 9 due to the Nivar cyclone and resulting in heavy rains.

The ICAI announced that "in view of heavy rains due to Nivar cyclone and consequent disruption of normal life in some cities in the State of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the Chartered Accountants Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Examination (Group I), Paper – 2, Business Laws, Ethics and Communication & Intermediate Examination (Group I), Paper – 2, Corporate and Other Laws and Final (Old) Examination (Group I), Paper – 3 & Final (New) Examination (Group I) Paper – 3, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics scheduled to be held on November 24 and 25 2020, in Chennai, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram, Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Tiruvallur and Villupuram and Puducherry stand rescheduled".

The notification added that the rescheduled Intermediate and IPC Examination shall be held on December 9, 2020. "The Final (Old & New) Examination shall be held on December 11, 2020, for the above-stated centres only at the same time. Admit Cards already issued would remain valid for the rescheduled date. However, it is clarified that the schedule of examinations of all other cities shall remain unchanged," it added.
