Around 50 per cent students attend classes in a week after schools reopened in Andhra Pradesh

The attendance percentage of students neared 50 per cent after a week of school reopening in Andhra Pradesh. The attendance percentage of students, collectively from government, aided and private schools, stood at 49.94 per cent for class 10 and 38.89 per cent for class 9 on Monday.

While 42.40 per cent, 22.42 per cent and 34.57 per cent students of class 9 from government, aided and private schools, respectively, attended the classes, 51.12 per cent, 66.84 per cent and 46.51 per cent students of class 10 from government, aided and private schools, respectively, attended the classes on Monday.

In terms of teachers' attendance, the lowest attendance percentage was of aided school teachers (37.95 per cent) followed by private school teachers (72.63 per cent). The highest attendance percentage was of government school teachers (88.90 per cent).

Hundred per cent government and aided schools were reopened in all districts except Krishna district (99 per cent). All private schools in East Godavari, Prakasam, Chittor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool, while 72 per cent private schools reopened in Srikakulam, 38 per cent in Vizianagaram, 87 per cent in Visakhapatnam, 65 per cent each in West Godavari and Guntur, 70 per cent in Krishna and 40 per cent in Nellore.
