Student leader among four injured in bomb attack in UP, assailants flee spot

Four people, including a student leader, were injured after unidentified miscreants attacked them with a bomb in the Gopiganj area of this Uttar Pradesh district, police sources said on Friday. According to sources here, three unidentified, motorcycle-borne miscreants aimed at student leader Manish Yadav and attacked him with a country-made bomb, late Thursday night.

The incident caused panic in the area as three bombs were thrown indiscriminately. Manish Yadav, one Adarsh Gupta and two passers-by were injured in the incident. Enraged with the attack, people created a jam at the highway.

The incident could be related to another matter which took place between students, two days back. Following the incident, the assailants fled from the spot. Upon receiving information, a large police force reached the spot including Kotwal Krishnanand. All the injured have been admitted to the Community Health Center (CHC), Gopiganj.
