On Saturday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had announced that exams in all the Delhi state-run universities will be cancelled. The decision was made owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"In light of the major disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Delhi govt has decided to cancel all Delhi state university exams including final exams,” Sisodia tweeted. On Monday, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had said that universities must conduct exams for final-year students by September. The AAP government says that it will approach the central government regarding this.

The move will, however, not be valid for colleges that come under the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Despite being located in Delhi, the universities come under the central government's jurisdiction. Students and teachers from both the universities have been calling for a cancellation of their examinations. The Delhi University was initially supposed to conduct online open-book examinations for its final semester students in July and had postponed it to August recently.

Here's the list of universities for which the examinations will be cancelled.

Ambedkar University Delhi
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
Delhi Technological University
Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology
Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW)
