An Anganwadi teacher in Thiruvananthapuram has her students to campaign for the upcoming local body polls. S Renuka Kumari, the LDF candidate from Punnakkamugal division of the city corporation has two generation of her students campaigning for her with videos requesting voters to vote for her.

An Anganwadi teacher for over 35 years, Renuka was surprised by her students when they initially did videos supporting her. However, as time went by and the videos became viral in the circle, more of her students came forward making small videos and sharing them in social media platforms.

"It is heartening to see my students coming forward to support me. My students are part of the campaigns for all three parties here. The way they say "our teacher" in the videos is something that can never compare to anything else. As a teacher, my job was not just to teach them but to help them with basic lessons in life too. I hope I have managed to leave an impact. I am now teaching the children of my former students and to hear them request vote for me with all the love makes everything worth it," said Renuka.
