The University of Delhi has conducted its online Open Book Examinations in complete non-compliance of the Delhi High Court's order, said the court. The OBE for DU's final year students had begun on August 10, after the HC gave it a green signal while hearing pleas challenging the exam.

A letter issued by justice Pratibha Singh to the university said, "The working of the Grievance Redressal Committee which is to look into the grievances of students giving the Online Open Book examinations (OBE) is currently underway and cannot be permitted to be hampered in this manner." She noted that the grievance redressal mechanism of the university is not operational. The court also said that it will now accept grievances brought up by the GRCs with or without complaints. The court will hear the matter at 2.30 PM on Friday.

Two lawyers, who are members of the GRC had previously told the court that the university wasn't in touch with them and that they do not have the contact details of the university faculty who are its members. On top of that, one of the grievances email addresses is dysfunctional.

Since the commencement of the examinations, a number of students and faculty have raised concerns about the manner in which it was conducted. This included frequent crashing of the portal, wrong question paper emailed and them not getting an acknowledgment upon successfully emailing answer sheets.
