The Delhi High Court, on Friday, gave a nod to the University of Delhi to go ahead with the online Open Book Examinations. The examinations are scheduled to begin on August 10. Previously, a division bench of the court had also allowed the university to conduct the examination.

Ruling the judgment, Justice Pratibha Singh also instructed the university to follow certain directions. While the court is "concerned by the manner in which it is streamlined", DU was asked to make provisions for students to upload the answer sheets on the university portal and also email it. Students will also be allowed an extra hour to scan and upload their answer sheets. The university was instructed to send acknowledgments to students once their papers are uploaded or emailed.

Apart from this, the Common Service Centres are to be notified about the examinations by the end of Friday. The university was also asked to announce the results of the examinations shortly.

The University of Delhi, on the other hand, had released a circular on Wednesday, with a set of directions for its students about the OBEs. It also said that students who fail to attempt the OBEs can appear in the second phase of examinations conducted by the university. The dates for the same are yet to be released.
