A lot of fake news is making rounds on social media about COVID-19 and a lot of people tend to believe these without confirming with the reliable government departments or websites. One such news that was doing rounds recently said that the Karnataka PUC-2 English examination, which was supposed to be held on March 23, will now be held on April 22.

However, on Thursday, S Suresh Kumar, the Karnataka Minister of Primary & Secondary Education said that the information was fake and urged the public to not believe it. He posted on his Facebook account,  "This piece of information is fake. Do not believe in it. We are yet to decide the dates for the SSLC or PUC exams that are pending. We will be able to decide only when the number of COVID-19 cases will decrease or come down to zero."

A few days ago, Kumar had also said that the class X students in the state will be given a crash course for a week before the board exams. He then said, "The classes had ended long back and now the students may have lost their touch with the subjects. So we thought it was a good idea to review the chapter and subjects for a week or so. This will not only boost students' confidence, but also help them to be prepared for the examination and remember things that they may have forgotten." Meanwhile, the state government has also postponed the Common Entrance Test for PUC-2 students. The dates for the same will be announced only after the COVID-19 row.
