Karnataka floods: VTU donates 10 Lakh to Chief Minister's relief fund

The employees of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi have contributed their one day salary to Chief Minister's relief fund for the flood relief measures in Karnataka, which was handed over in form of demand draft to the district administration in Belagavi on Thursday. Dr Karisiddappa, Vice-Chancellor of VTU handed over the demand draft of Rs 10,97,129 to the Dr S B Bommanahalli, Deputy Commissioner, Belagavi at his office.

Dr A S Deshpande, Registrar of VTU and Laxman Nimbargi, Superintendent of Police, Belagavi were present on the occasion. In the month of August 2019, VTU already distributed the essential commodities to the flood relief camps at Gokak, Hukkeri, Nippani and Belagavi talukas. University distributed 2000 blankets, 6000 food pockets, medicine worth of Rs 50,000, biscuits worth of Rs 50,000, sanitary pads worth of Rs 10,000, cloths worth of Rs 20,000 and water bottles worth of Rs 10,000.
